collaborative project/ discussion forums/ art bonds
The Art & Economics Group, established in Berlin in 2007 by Tanja Ostojić, David Rych and Dmytri Kleiner, investigated the intersection of art and political economy. For the first two years, the Art & Economics Group Quarterly Forums were regularly hosted by Project Room 35 and Wooloo Productions, Berlin. After a break due to the economic recession and the closure of those two art spaces, Quarterly Forums have been in 2010 hosted by the Museum of American Art Berlin. Since the size of this space was too small to host our regular visitors, Forums have been hosted from 2010 on by diverse venues in Berlin and internationally including Assembly for Art Workers, Am Flutgraben, Berlin (2012), Economy, CCA Glasgow (2013), 4th Athens Biennale (2013), HKW Berlin (2014).

Economics Quarterly Forum is a performative event incorporating rituals relating to art and political economy. The program of the Quarterly Forums included: quarterly report, guest of the evening, discussion and the auction of special edition of Art Bonds designed by the guest of the evening. Sometimes as well, a performance or a film screening, were included in the program. Topics included political economy as a theme in art, the economics of art production and economic activity as an action based art practice.
The Art Bonds are papers of value sold usually for 2 Euro each. The Art Bond owner has a right and not an obligation to redeem his/her title on the Bond’s maturity at 110% in one year time from the date of the stamp. The Art Bonds are part of the Art & Economics Group series and a valid peace of Art.

Guests included: former artist Goran Djordjević, Fran Ilich for Diego de La Vega, Alex Nikolić from Slum TV, Bill Drummond, Diego Castro, Stefan Hayn, Stephan Kurr, Erik Dettwiler, ect. Organised, moderated and auctioned by Tanja Ostojić. The two active members of the group Tanja Ostojić and Dmytri Kleiner, were at the last two events joined by Baruch Gottlieb.
